The People's Post (formerly Regional Information Initiative)

Project summary: $500,000 in San Diego, Calif.

The online news site voiceofsandiego.org, the Media Arts Center San Diego, the San Diego County Library, Lincoln High School and other partners will create a digital news network , The People's Post, that includes professional and lay journalism and community-based digital storytelling. The digital storytelling feature, a key aspect, will produce reports from underserved communities through fixed or mobile story-stations dispersed throughout the region. The San Diego Foundation believes a new collective civic voice will emerge through the effort.
